About Us

Scott and Kristen Hertzog have been enjoying the company of guests from around the world for over 21 years. Former owners of the award-winning Hertzog Homestead in beautiful Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, they have earned awards on TripAdvisor, Booking.com, and Alignable with their historic bed & breakfast, barn event venue, gift shoppe, spa collection and farmland preserve.

The Hertzog’s are pleased to introduce The Historic Inspired Cottage and Coastal Cottage in Punta Gorda, Florida! Located in the historic district of this 1850’s coastal fishing town, these comfortable, new cottages have been built with taste and adventure in mind.

Some of the antiques that decorate the Historic Cottage have come through generations of Scott’s family. Scott, an avid historian wrote his book, My First 250 Years: The Story of the Hertzog Homestead which chronicles Scott’s unique family history through stories, humor, and historical research. He will be featuring future blogs on the unique charm and history of Punta Gorda in his writings.

Kristen is an entrepreneur, business consultant, and the reigning Mrs Lancaster Pennsylvania America (a part of the Miss America Scholarship Opportunity) with a focus on her work as a global ambassador, highlighting education and job training skills for Haitians. She is also a lover of interior design, having created comfortable interiors in over 9 unique Hertzog Homestead accommodations.

Together, Scott and Kristen are Youtubers starring in their own show: So I Married A Mennonite, where they take viewers on a journey through on their unique, cross cultural marriage and exploring and traveling around the world. Kristen is an Italian-American from New Jersey and Scott is a rural Pennsylvania Mennonite farm boy, so challenges and comedy if often a part of experiences they are happy to share with viewers.

The Hertzog’s welcome you to their beautiful cottages and trust your visit will be a relaxing, memorable and enjoyable one in sunny Florida!
