Can I bring my own caterer?
We are fortunate to have wedding events catered by the award-winning JDK Group, winner of the WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Award (2010-2016) and The Knot’s Bride’s Choice Best Caterer Award (2008-2016).
We highly recommend JDK Group for any event at the Hertzog Hertzog; however, non-wedding events may bring outside catering. Catering service must provide proper licensing to venue no later than 30 days prior to the event date.
Can we have alcohol?
Having alcohol is available for our barn receptions, barn parties, corporate events and non-profit events only. The JDK Group provides the required, licensed bartender for events at the Hertzog Homestead. You must provide your own alcohol.
Are yard games acceptable?
Yards games are completely acceptable.
What is included in the 15 hour day of event service?
Day of event service includes: Assisting with wedding day coordination, assisting with rehearsal, develop and communicate a timeline with vendors, and provide a day-of assistant. The coordinator will also manage set-up and clean-up provide an emergency kit, and collect your gifts and decor, which will be packaged and returned to you at the end of the night. Our goal is to create a memorable, relaxed and well-planned events.
Do we have to get day of insurance?
Day of event insurance is required for the following events: wedding receptions, barn parties, corporate events, and non-profit events. By signing the contract, client agrees to provide a “Certificate of Insurance” with a minimum of $1,000,000.00 liability limit 30 days prior to the event. This policy covers services provided by client’s party on the property including: alcohol, food, music, lighting, etc. for the date of the event. Hertzog Homestead and Scott & Kristen Hertzog should be named as Additional Insureds. A certificate can be obtained through client’s home-owners insurance policy for approximately $100.
Do we need to rent tables and chairs or are they provided?
We currently have enough tables and chairs to accommodate 80 guests. For your convenience, we provide an easy to use “Add-On Menu” where you can select additional items to rent for your event. You tell us what you want and we will handle the ordering process. You are also free to seek additional items through other vendors.
