The Wright Choice: Kate Wright joins the Hertzog Homestead Team as Event Manager
Hertzog Homestead in Ephrata has enjoyed much success in the past 14 years including the Bicentennial Farm and Home Award and features in local and regional business publications. After renovations were complete in the historic bank barn, circa 1740s, Hertzog Homestead opened its doors as a premiere event venue in Lancaster County.
Kate Wright recently joined the team as Events Manager for Hertzog Homestead Event Venue. Previously, Kate has served in coordination leadership roles such as Event Coordinator for Hertzog Homestead, Co-chair of Hope for Haiti Benefit Auction and Project Coordinator for Haitian Connection Network/Life Connection Mission.
Kate has a BA from Millersville University and is in the process of obtaining her certification as an Event Planner with ICOES. Kate will continue in strategic planning of the events venue and marketing additional opportunities for those looking to host events such as weddings, corporate gatherings, church and nonprofit events and smaller more intimate parties.
“Hertzog Homestead event venue is unique, because it is located only 15-20 minutes from downtown Lancaster, and offers a rustic, country environment with fantastic views and a historical backdrop perfect for large or more intimate events.” Says Wright.
In addition to the meadow grounds which can host events up to 900 people, the rustic barn venue which seats 150, acres of woods and fields surrounded by rolling farmland, the award winning Hertzog Homestead also offers the private Buch Multi-Purpose Room, available year round for groups of 20 or less.
“I envision many types of events in the Buch Multi Purpose room. Birthday parties, bridal showers and afternoons teas with our wonderful cook, Elva preparing delicious samplings to name a few. We have tables, chairs and linens already on site.”
Kate also shares Hertzog Homestead’s passion for education within Haiti and has co-chaired three annual Hope for Haiti Benefit Auctions, leading over 100 volunteers and two committees, with proceeds benefiting selected nonprofit organizations educational initiatives in Haiti. This January, Kate will make her second visit to Haiti to see the work first hand in education and community development.
