Welcome to the Hertzog Suite!

We are putting the spotlight on the Hertzog Suite this week. The Hertzog Suite is named after the current owners and family of IMG_1770the Homestead. Scott’s father, Kenneth Buch Hertzog, moved onto the Homestead in 1976.  He was the great, great, great, great grandson of Jacob Metzler, who moved onto the property in 1786. Kenneth farmed the land and also worked as a full-time Excavator for Horst Group Construction Company.

When he and his wife moved off the farm in 2003, the farm was bought by his son, Scott Hertzog and his wife, Kristen. They are your friendly innkeepers and live here till this day. Their son Kiefer, is the ninth generation of this unbroken bloodline to live on the Homestead.

Private Hertzog Suite Patio

There are plenty of the amenities this suite has to offer. A queen sized sleigh bed is perfect for you and your loved one to have a comfortable and relaxing nights rest. The private kitchenette and dining area is set with a delicious Amish made breakfast and assorted fresh baked goods. A romantic fire place and soft couch is the perfect spot to end your night right next to your loved one on the private patio and garden Jacuzzi.

The Hertzog Suite is our most romantic suite and provides the perfect escape for you and your loved one. Hear what some of our previous guests have to say:
“My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in the Hertzog Suite in April. We have been to many B&Bs. This was by far our favorite. The Suite was beautiful, clean and tastefully decorated. There was a private patio with a hot tub, very private. The breakfast casseroles and homemade pastries were wonderful. There was a great welcome basket with wine, chocolate, chips and homemade lotion. Kristen Hertzog greeted us upon our arrival and was very helpful with suggestions about places of interest.” – Becky via The Hertzog webpage

“This bed and breakfast is special and beautiful. Private breakfast that was prepared with care and so delicious!!! The farm area is so pretty, sitting outside with a glass of wine was wonderful. The owners should be very proud, this is a 5 star Bed & Breakfast. We are here for 2 nights wishing it could be longer, we will be returning, Kristen, you’re doing an excellent job!!!! Come spend a night or two and enjoy and pamper yourself. Thanks for a wonderful get a way, Ann & Chuck from Jersey” – Ann via the Facebook page
