Piero’s Italian Restaurant – A Hertzog Homestead Bed & Breakfast Review
On a recent lunch excursion, Kristen and I decided upon Italian food. Naturally, we chose Piero’s Italian Restaurant, located a few minutes away in Akron. As a first-time diner, I was quite pleased with the Piero’s experience. Our waitress provided excellent service, with prompt drink refills and a warm and friendly disposition.
Then we got to the food. Kristen ordered her Piero’s favorite, the Firenze Gourmet Sandwich-complete with prosciutto, fresh tomato, fresh mozzarella cheese, extra virgin olive oil, onions, and basil, served on fresh, homemade focaccia bread. This particular sandwich is not only Kristen approved, but comes highly recommended from the staff.
I, a Berks County native, opted for something a little closer to home-the Philadelphia-style chicken cheese steak. Served on a fresh, homemade roll the shredded chicken breast to melted cheese ratio was perfection; the sauce and onions were added upon request at no additional cost. Definitely Delicious!
The overall atmosphere created a relaxed setting perfect for casual conversation. Friendly service, great food, and a relaxing atmosphere make for a refreshing lunch-time break. If you try Piero’s for dinner, leave us a comment with you experience! We’d love to hear from you.
